:: FLOGS ideas? ::
Over a year ago Anthropologie had this piece for sale.. now VS has fuchsia one on sale.
I love the idea of the sideways short-rows to create the flare cardi or a pullover... may be the first fall knit now? Love that it is solid, seams free and a round yoke...mmmm! Simplicity sometimes has so much appeal to it..

But I was also considering making a garter stitch allover jacket.. with a solid circular yoke, I partially blame Kirsten of assemblage referring to Habu jacket.. though it is very tempting for the gradation being soo in coming season, I must think twice before using Tsumugi.. it is warm as wool, but would it have the effect I aim for.. (fyi japanese women are tiny, so that is why this jacket looks a bit loose on her).

So now I am on a hunt for it.. and I am very tempted to use EZ yoke sizing percentage system just to make one.. bottom up or top down, doesn't really matter. Have 15 skeins of beautiful dark navy Laines du Nord Korall scored on sale last Fall at Knit Happens and stash knitting continues...
Here are some other versions...

Any thoughts on that, please!

ah, olga.
i so want this pattern!
obviously the black cardigan at the end is a MUST but i like the a-line cardigan version, too...
seen anything like it around yet??
Wow, I want them all! I think the first one, the sweater, is my favorite, but I would prefer making one of the cardigans to avoid the purling, I thing..
bell sleeves are so last season...that being said, I wouldn't necessarily go for the last incarnation right away...the fuchsia is still pretty sweet...
Olga, there's a Garnstudio sideways baby jacket in garter stitch that can possibly be adapted for adults. And in stockinette. The pink one is rather nice.

I love the grey one, second from the end. Barbara Walkers Knitting from the top down may help, although I have never knit using her guidelines yet.
There's a free DROPS pattern (96-3) that is a sideways cardigan. It's not exactly the shape you're going for nor is it garter, but it has an interesting construction with shoulder gussets for making it all in one piece. Check it out, if for research only.
I love the one second from the bottom as well, would come in handy here in Seattle!
Love these. You always find the best stuff!
I like the pink and the charcoal one. I would go for a top-down one piece, so that you can increase as you knit and desire it.
I'm totally digging the fuschia one and the charcoal one. Very fun!
Oh, I love the short row sweaters! That A line is lovely :)
i've looked at the Setsuko Torii one many times in her book - thinking hmmmm. and the same thinking Tsumugi or some Henry's Attic raw silk would work. almost used my lavender raw silk for it - and now wishing i had. these are beautiful variations you've found. i think anyone one of them would look marvelous. and navy - great choice.
Well.... You know that I would have to put in my vote for no.3. I absolutely adore that jacket. But the charcoal gray one is pretty amazing.
Something about the first two really don't appeal to me. Though I am sure you could use the EZ method to do the off white one pretty easily.
I'm putting in a vote for the second to last one. I'm really loving gray right now, and I like the shape on that one.
Ha! I saved that same photo from Anthro last year because I liked the design. Agreed on the garter love for this fall!
(sorry, I deleted the last comment because was logged in wrong!)
My vote is with the last one...actually, what is it from? I'd love to knit it.

Oh, wow. I love the Anthropologie one, and the last one. Either would be amazing. Navy wool? Gorgeous! Make it soon, please please please! ;)
I love the last one (pictured in black) do you have the pattern?
The second last is the one I would definitely want to knit if there is (or going to be) a pattern. It doesn't look to complicated but I'm to lazy to write a pattern myself.
Nice collection!
Thank you very much, I am now also obsessed with finding a garter stitch yoke cardi in gray. I love the purple and the charcoal ones best, and I've scoured Ravelry to no avail. Hope you come up with one!
I LOVE the 1st one. Definitely!
With reference to the second last photo, there is a very similar free pattern if you look at the Patons Australia website (www.patons.biz). If you go to the free patterns section, click on the Shadow Tweed Sideways Jacket. It has a more textured stitch pattern but very similar style garment.
Love this (these?) styles. I particularly like the purple cardi and the second last one too. Reminds me a little of the beautiful shaping appeal of the Sunrise Circle jacket. You'd definitely be on a winner if you design something along these lines...
