:: hiatus ::

A month hiatus, I must apologize, but it has been very very busy here. Getting into new order of getting around while knitting for deadline and finishing up other things on the needles and having all these exciting events going around me. I really have finished quite a bit. I guess stealing a moment here and there to produce somewhat knitted/sewn.

I have started watching Grey's from season 1 and on to current, something to listen/watch to while I knit... as nailbiting and very thrilling episodes rolled one by one I have pulled something I craved working on for a while. Vanessa gave me this gorgeous Malabrigo for my birthday that I knew I had to turn into a sweater that I wear every day as this buttery merino is out of this World, from the other part of the World actually-Uruguay! Too bad the color is not grey for the namesake and speed I made this sweater partially thanks to that show. But I adore this Orchid. (cough, need to stop with purples, cough)

Materials: 5 Skeins of Malabrigo Worsted in Orchid
Pattern: Bubble Sweater from Knitting Nature book by Norah Gaughan, size Small.
Needles: US 7 Addi Turbo 24" circular and US 7 DPN.
7 buttons in perfect matching color from G-Street Fabrics in Falls Church, VA.
Time to make: slow 1 week and 1 week of non-stop knitting.
Modifications: I have switched to thinner yarn and smaller needles than suggested as wanted this sweater to be more tapered. So you honestly wouldn't know how the sweater would fit you till you are done with it. Working pentagons was fun, I opted to doing provisional casts-on with auxilary thread , unraveling and picking the stitches after, so I got no pick up lines on top of regular cast on edges, just clean knit fabric.
Result: Love warmth and softness! I would totally knit it again, Norah's pattern keeps you so entertained with construction. And can never say no to Malabrigo. Though it pills, but there is no such a thing as yarn of obsolete perfection.

And more knits are yet to be shown... I will try to write out more progress and photos.
Meanwhile while you all travel to join in the celebration of the holidays, I want to wish you all

:::::::::::Happy Thanksgiving!:::::
