I call it a Barinya Jacket
The look of a late 19th century rich Russian merchant's wife, with sable fur and gold threads adornments. Mine is no sable, it's a viscose fur, on a cotton base, which makes it super soft and gives a real look! Where did I get it? My mum works with French and Italian Fur for her clients, and those are just lefovers I brought from my trip!

The tortures of seeing my Addi Natura Bamboo needles turn turquoise.. and fear that no matter what I would wear under it needs to be definitely a darker color otherwise it will dye my clothes.

So there are my US 7's that made this jacket appear within a week, I just got the yarn on the 30th of January in the mail. Should I say when you are passionate about it, you devote yourself completely, I really hope that the embellishment part won't take long.

And I am off to shaping the shoulders of the back and blocking it... Keep fingers crossed you can see another FO by the end of the week!
Update:the back is done and drying now waiting to be assembled.

That's going to look so cool when finished!
But wow - you either knit at an ungodly pace, or fourteen hours a day. Now I feel like challenging myself to see how quickly I could pull off an entire garment.
(Nah.)
It's going to be beautiful and very Russian. Looks like Murka likes it too! Can't wait to see the embroidery work on it. A turtleneck the color of the fur would look nice underneath and you wouldn't have to worry about the dye issue.
wow, i still cannot believe how much dye came out of that aurora when you washed it!! that's crazy. but this should be totally worth it. what a great idea!
hi murka murka!! i love that cat - and the jackt - of course!
if only i could knit as fast as you do *sigh*
Wow, your needles must be smoking at that pace! :) I love being that excited about a project!
Beautiful work!
